The awesome Martini Porsche 917LH of Larrousse and Elford had qualified in second place for the 1971 Le Mans and was running in second position after 3 hours when the horizontal cooling fan became detached causing the engine to overheat and thus retiring the car. The car is depicted charging through the Esses ahead of the Pink Pig 917/20 of Joest and Kauhsen and the Martini 917K of Marko and van Lennep that would go on to win the race.
