Clay Regazzoni was the outstanding driver at Long Beach on the occasion of the U.S Grand Prix West, achieving the fastest time in practice and leading the race from start to finish. The image shows Regazzoni in the Ferrari 312T during the early laps of the race, leading Depailler's Tyrrell and Ferrari team mate Niki Lauda, who was to eventually finish second.
