After receiving an early Black Flag and a telling off in the pits for overtaking under a Yellow Flag, Pedro Rodriguez then drove a simply amazing race. By lap 15 he was into second place and then overtook Vic Elford in the Martini 917 to take the lead from which he would not be moved. He went on to drive 5 1/2 of the 6 1/2 hour race and won by 5 clear laps. The picture depicts Rodriguez leading Elford and the Ferrari of 512S of Chris Amon into Paddock Hill Bend.
